The new Sir Redman wedding collection for this season is almost ready! And we are quite proud of that. The past few months we have worked hard to imagine, design and produce this wedding collection. It has become a nice balance between timeless designs, a mix between pastel and earthy colors, with sustainable silk fabrics and all that with a stylish and luxurious look. Tough, with a soft edge. That is the starting point. We are happy to tell you how this beautiful collection was created.
It always starts with an idea, an inspiration, which we use as a guide to develop the collection. This guide gives you something to hold on to. With each item we think: does this fit our Sir Redman vision and will 'our' groom wear this? This way we stay within the 'story' we have in mind. It is very easy to 'go wild' in the many materials, fabrics and colors that are available.
Heads full of ideas, but then? We make a mood board with images that inspire us. This can be anything: pictures from Pinterest, clippings from magazines, but also vintage images from our own archive, simply pictures that we find beautiful and fabrics that give us a warm feeling.
Based on this moodboard we will source the fabrics and develop designs. One thing is certain: the fabrics we use must be sustainable. The fabric must give the colors more depth and also have a luxurious character. That's why we choose silk. That's exactly the look we want to create.
At a silk weaving mill in Como, Italy, we found the right fabrics. A beautiful raw silk, called Shantung. This silk gives a natural look and a luxurious touch to the solid colors we chose, such as ochre, emerald green, sky blue and taupe. But also for the designs, from romantic to natural, we chose this weaving mill. For the fabrics with designs we selected a diverse color palette, with colors such as powder pink, pastel orange, olive green, sage green, blue gray, ivory white and dusty gray.
For the finish of the suspenders, we chose (chrome-free tanned) grain leather. For the Sir Redman wedding collection, in addition to the frequently chosen grain colors, we also added 2 additional colors: brown gray and light taupe. Beautiful colors, which go perfectly with the earthy and pastel colors from the collection.
The beauty of this wedding collection is that the ties, bow ties and suspenders are made from the same fabric. And, for the first time this season, so are the pocket squares. So the groom-to-be can choose his accessories as he likes. Will he make a nice mix of, for example, plain suspenders with a colorful, romantic bow tie? Or does he opt for a stylish ensemble in which all the accessories have the same color and weave? He can say it. It is his day!
From the beginning of May the wedding collection can be ordered through the b2b shop.
